My uncle Paul from Atlanta made the landing on Guadalcanal with the 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. My uncle later made all the 1st Division island landing during WWII through Okinawa.
He was later reactivated for Korea with the 5th Marines at the Chosen. A real gentleman who I deeply respected, he is missed. I'm not sure if he ever received a Heart, I was young then. S/F
