Just run long distances (4+ miles) at 8-9 minute mile pace - get endurance lungs then the IST will be nothing

thats a great time man, and all the advice i can give you on pullups is do them all the time, the armstrong pullup program is great..
i started out only being able to do 3 then i slowly kept seeing improvement and before you know it im hooked on them.. they are my favorite exercise no doubt

Im showing great improvement and i hope you guys are also. Im coming from a 16+ minute 1.5 mile and 60 crunches. Feeling really good about my next Poolee Function Saturday. It seems like im one of the only guys growing, everyone in this thread is by far past their IST. Anyone showing progression?

calebh180, Thanks for the advice I'll be sure to check out the Armstrong routine. I'm just trying to train 3 or 4 times a week with different lifts and pullups every morning.

I've improved everywhere, as well. I did 3 pullups in December, I did a set of 20 today. I could only perform 56 crunches at MEPS. I maxed out at our last pool function.
Running... well that's another story. Everything else is so easy to improve on quickly, but running is just so slow to experience results for me. The first time I ran (which was before I went to MEPS) it took my 19 minutes to complete 1.5 mi. I've put down the smokes since then, and my best time at a function was 13:07. However, at the last function I ran 14:00 and failed my run again. I just don't feel like I'm improving there.

How often do you run? Run everyday man. Take a day off then go back to it. 4-2-4. That's 4 one day. 2 the next. 4 the next. It shows big improvements.
