[Sept. 15, 2015 – Washington D.C.]    The Young Marines, a national youth organization, is hosting a free concert with America’s most patriotic rock band – Madison Rising. It will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, at Barnett Field, MCB Quantico, Virginia. The concert is in appreciation of active duty Marines and Wounded Warriors.

Madison Rising recently returned to the United States from a concert tour of Marine Corps bases in Korea and Japan.

The Young Marines and Madison Rising formed a partnership in April, 2015.

“The band and the Young Marines share the same desire to honor all veterans and active duty and reserve forces,” said Gary Weisbaum, chief marketing officer of the Young Marines. “We are excited to add the Madison Rising concert to the Modern Day Marine activities. Joining Madison Rising at the concert will be ‘Gunny’ R. Lee Ermey and SgtMaj Gene Overstreet.”

Since the release of Madison Rising’s first album in 2011, the band has worked to create an entirely new genre of music – patriotic rock which combines a classic rock sound with inspirational tributes to men and women in uniform.

Madison Rising’s new album – “American Hero” – is dedicated to the men and women of the armed forces, along with police, firefighters and other first responders whose sacrifice and selfless dedication to the service of America, at home and abroad, help this great nation to remain the land of the free and the home of the brave.

The band’s lead singer is Dave Bray. A dedicated leader and patriot, Bray was a recruit chief petty officer in basic training, a master at arms in A-school, and was awarded the honor of Top Dog in Field Medical Service School. He served in the U.S. Navy as an 8404 FMF Corpsman for the 2nd Battalion / 2nd Marines stationed out of Camp Lejeune North Carolina.

The Young Marines is a national non-profit 501c(3) youth education and service program for boys and girls, age eight through the completion of high school. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral and physical development of its members. The program focuses on teaching the values of leadership, teamwork and self-discipline, so its members can live and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Since the Young Marines’ humble beginnings in 1959 with one unit and a handful of boys, the organization has grown to 280 units with 7,000 youth and 2,500 adult volunteers in 40 states, the District of Columbia and Okinawa with affiliates in other countries.
