Parris Island, Platoon 163 July 71-Sept 71

As posted, I was a recruit at Parris Island from 1 July, 1971 until mid-late September... I was a member of Platoon 163, Senior Drill Instructor was SSgt Smith and one of his Assistant Drill Instructors was Sgt Mehl...and another Sgt I cannot for the life of me remember...If you were a member of this platoon, please contact me...If you know where I can locate a Platoon Book/Platoon Photo...I'll buy the beer!!
I have already tried Recruit Photo on Parris Island...they informed me that negatives for Platoon Photos from the years of 1971/72/73 were lost in one of the "change-of-vendors" over the years... Gotta love those civilian contractors...: I know they ain't all bad, but losing all those negatives? Damn!!!
I have been searching eBay, doing searches on the Internet, have contacted the Museum on Parris Island, but if you can think of places to look that I've not mentioned here, let me know...

I was in Platoon 163, but this was July 1964. I didn't know they recycled Platoon Numbers.

Good to hear some of us are still out there, I went in and Graduated same time as you , had SSgt Brewer as Senior Drill Ins Sgt Montgomery as ADI

I was in the GATOR platoon 163 at Parris Island from August to November 1962. I guess they do recycle the platoon numbers !

I was in Platoon 163 in 1971. I do have the Platoon Book.

I was in Platoon 1036 that graduated in March of 1971. Sgt Mehl was one of our DI's and SSgt Kisor was the other. SSgt Bradshaw was our Senior DI, and a good man.
