We went to the Memorial Day Ceremony at Belleau Wood on 24 May 2009.

I thought I would share some pictures.

    Here comes the drummers.

Marines in formation on the steps.

Re-enactors...I think this might be our friend Gus.

They moved around so fast I couldn't catch up with him.

Quick question, I fly into Paris in about two weeks and have been trying to find out how to get to Belleau Wood. Is it easier just to rent a car take a bus or look for a tour guide??

Without our GPS we would have never found it. It is about an hour from Paris. I do believe there are tours of the battleground and then cemetary you can arrange. I know nothing about the details. We drove but then again we live here

I'll be there from 11 June till the 20th. I'll figure it out, even if i've got to pull the laces tight and hump it. Semper FI!!!!
