I got a couple of buddies thats in Georgia. They were teaching them how to drive tactical vehicles, there were fighting about 15 min. away from the base. Now the base is in complete lock down... Wonder how they getting out. If peace talks fails were definately going in to get our boys back.

The Russian want 'CONTROL' of all "countries" within range of any
short range missles. They are poised to strike anywhere and regain their
spot as a Top World Power. They will use any excuse, any reason, any
'right' to step in and take over. As to the fly-bys, they have done it for years and the US Navy has done a great job of playing with them but each time, this gets a little closer. Please remain on alert for this is only the tip of the Puttin iceberg showing. He again will team up with the Chinese and North Koreans to form a power block that will threaten America just as before. How many millions of dollars did we give the Russkies to ensure democracy would stay in place ? Darn it...State Department strikes again...those idiots !!

I'm reading some of these stories and it kind of feels like it's a 'sum of all fears' scenario... like the movie where there was a radical terroist group hell bent on pitting the US against Russia to start another WW...

the question is why would the georgians attack their own people? why would russia attack civilian buildings.... none of these proclamations have been denied by the other side..
georgia didn't deny attacking their own city..
russia didn't deny destroying civilian buildings...

this is stinking of conspiracy, and with Bush's tight relations with putin... well yeah... conspiracy.

yeah from what i have read it all started when georgia said the seperatists in s. ocessita attacked georgia with a road side bomb and artillery killign 10 georgia people, and thats when georgia invaded s ocesstia to regain control of the breakway and then russia stepped in, im sure both of them are to blame with the civilian casualties in S. Ocesstia, but Russia is the one to blame for bombing the civilians in Georgia and trying to bomb the oil pipeline that runs through Georgia. If Russia does bomb the military base and kill some of our boys, the sh*t will hit the fan.

yup we will be finding out very soon after GW's speech this afternoon, and if they dont stand down, the UN is going to be voting on taking it to the next level of escalation... What do you think we should do? Let Russia take over a strong ally of ours in eastern europe or should we go in and show force to keep the peace?

    Good Question

Where are the US peace protesters against Russia's invasion of Georgia? Where's Code Pink when you need them?

    Victor Davis Hanson quote:

The Russians have sized up the moral bankruptcy of the Western Left. They know that half-a-million Europeans would turn out to damn their patron the United States for removing a dictator and fostering democracy, but not more than a half-dozen would do the same to criticize their long-time enemy from bombing a constitutional state.
