    MP's

    So I have a friend who just graduated from boot camp, and a guy he met there wanted to be an MP. Well basically an instructor told him he can't choose that MOS because the USMC is trying to phase out MP's and use private contractors or city police to patrol bases. So now he is in school to be in corrections. Sound fishy? Anyone heard of this? Just wondering. Doesn't sound right to me.

    MP's, aren't being phased out, just replaced at bases and stations by a "civilian" police force, mainly comprised of former and retired 5811's. There will still be tactical MP's, dog handlers, criminal investigators, etc.
