Shotguns in WWII
Hi,
I'm looking fir information about the use of shotguns in WWI and the ammo belts that were used with them. I have an unmarked belt that has been passed down through the family that is configured to be a shotgun ammo belt. The belt has a pouch on the left side, 10 elastic bands spaced around the belt, 4 spring loaded clips in the rear with naval type anchors stamped on them and the buckle portion is leather. I was told that this is Marine issue but can't seem tofind any data that verifies it. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Mike
