    Knot tying

Does anyone know where I can find the diagrams/illustrations of the knots we learned in Boot Camp?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Semper Fi and may all of you have an outstanding 2008!

    .

I feel deprieved - I didn't learn any knots in Boot Camp.

I know two ways to tie fishing line and a couple of fly fishing knots.

Except for that time in Thailand, I never felt the need for any others.

I didn't formally learn any knots until Mountain Warfare School. As with Sparkie, up until then, they were on my head.

Google the topic. You'll be buried in knot info.

I think that "Squids" had to learn how to tie knots - you sure that you were in the right Boot Camp? Maybe they teach knots in the "new" MC - guess that goes to show you - technology marches on!
Do they teach Rapelling (sp) in Boot nowadays - maybe that would be the place to know how to tie a knot - especially if you were up a couple of hundred feet! Long drop if the knot wasn't correct!

Thanks for all of the help!

I was trying to remember when it was that they taught us these knots. It may have been at MCT in 89. I cannot remember but I would've sworn it was at PI.

They gave us a small pamphlet, and then we were tested under a time limit.

The reason I ask this is because I do a lot of hunting and when I am out I am always trying to tie something down, up, or on to something.

Thanks for all of your help and if any of you know which knots we were tested on I would sure appreciate it if you'd reply back.

    Thanks again.
