In the back of his chemical-detection vehicle, Cpl. Robert Castieleiro had brought along a book to read between training exercises and keeping his chemical sensors ready for a war with Iraq.

Unlike the mystery books or men's magazines that many other Marines devour in the desert, Castieleiro's reading material is "Bush at War," journalist Bob Woodward's behind-the-scenes look at the White House during the months after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
