    Question lt.refuses to go to iraq.

    an army leiutenant has refused to deploy to iraq.he calls the war illegal,and says the president has lied to the troops.can any one in the military refuse to deploy?can they pick where they will and wont fight?what do you guys think?

    TECHNICALLY, I don't think he DESERTED.

    Just:
    Failure to follow a DIRECT order
    Conduct unbecomming...
    Derilection (sp?) of DUTY
    Probably something along the lines of trying to COERSE others

    20+ at HARD LABOR would be my call

    But.... I'm just an arm chair judge, and jury !!

    Screw the politics. He abandoned the men he trained and is directly responsible for. He quit on his troops. Thats not in any Marine's character.
