    Marine Corps info trivia "game"

Ok I'm not sure I rate making a topic like this, if not, then tell me so.

Rules: Ask any question about the Marine Corps. (History, customs, etc.) and the one who answers the question correctly asks the next question.

I'll start with an easy one

Q: Name two Marine who received the Medal of Honor twice (Ranks and full names)

    Retired rank?

    Major General Smedley D. Butler

Sgt Maj. Dan Daly??? I don't know the 2nd one

Who is the only Marine authorized to wear medals on both the left and right sides of his uniform? Its a pretty easy one, but its still a question.

  5. #5
Dan Daly retired as a Sgt Major, not as a Gunny. He was a Gunny in WWI.

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I WILL...
My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. WE WILL HIT...
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. WE WILL...
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. WE ARE THE SAVIORS OF MY LIFE.
So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!

Wasn't it Maj. Gen. William H. Rupertus?

    1941/2?????

What is the meaning of the term 'Semper Gumby' and who uses it and why etc...

It means always flexible. This is because in the Marine Corps stuff changes all the time. You could be told to do one thing only to then be told to do something else. Kind of like the saying "stand by to stand by" or "hurry up and wait". You wont always know what you will be doing or why so being flexible in your expectations or time frames helps.

    Q. What is the red stripe on the dress blues trousers called and what does it signify and who is qualified to wear it?
