Once you qualify, if you do not make expert can you try again at a later time?

Always, everytime your sent to the range to qualify. I shot Sharpshooter just missing expert by 2 points three times in a row,it really ****ed me off. So I put in some extra time on the range and sure enough it payed off, the next time I was sent to the range, I made EXPERT,on the pistol range I had no trouble firing expert everytime..

I dont know what the rules will be at your unit once you are in the Fleet, but we used to "declare" our score on Wednesday. If we shot Expert on Wed. then we were done shooting and just worked in the butts, which gave the more troubled shooters more trigger time. Then if you DID NOT qual expert on Wed, you could refuse your score and declare again Thur, and the same for Fri...BUT if you did not get it on Fri morning before the field fire then you were stuck with what you got. Even if it was a pizza box!
