    The French, again!

The elderly American gentleman arrived in Paris by plane.

At the French Customs he fumbled for his passport.
"You 'Ave been to 'Franze' before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically.

The old gent admitted that he had been to France previously.
"Zen, you should know enough to 'ave your passport ready for inspection."

The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."

"Dat is impossible! You Americans alwayz 'ave to show your passports on arrival in Franze!"

The American senior gave the Frenchman a long, hard look. Then he quietly explained.

"Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in '44, I couldn't find any Frenchmen to show it to."

    Frenchman jailed for Madrid link
    Tue 25 May, 2004 14:32
    By Jon Boyle

PARIS (Reuters) - A Paris court has sentenced a Frenchman with links to a suspected Madrid train bomber to four years in prison for abetting a network of Islamic terrorists in Europe.

David Courtailler, a French convert to Islam, was found guilty on charges of conspiring with criminals engaged in a terrorist enterprise. Two years of his term were suspended.

Courtailler, 28, has been linked to Jamal Zougam, a key suspect in the Madrid bombings which killed 191 people in March...

That works out to be about only 4 days per death!
