    Good day Marines,

I was wondering if anybody has any insight on any 68 series jobs (I believe 6842 is all that still exists). I can't really find anything on google and everything on here is pretty vague. If anyone can shed some light on how the contract works. Its the AJ contract and is with aviation operations. I don't want to pick this job and end up being assigned aviation operations (wouldn't be to sad if i got 7236) but I would like to get METOC. If possible, can you explain the school, average day in country and deployed, and any other information I should know.

    Sincerely,
    Barker

    Listen Sweetpea -

you may well consider going to talk with other
service recruiters - you sound fearful to talk with
    Marines ...

You might also consider using something other than
a cellphone to search relitive to information about
    military occupations.

" Go ARMY " you can be an Army of ONE -
or at least ALL THAT YOU can be

My entire time recruiting I enlisted a whopping ONE person that got that MOS.

All I really know is the school is somewhere in Mississippi. She works at an air station giving weather reports to whoever is in charge of flight ops.

It appears you already understand that you could possibly not get the job you want. There's no way around that (unless you go reserves and find that MOS available close by). If that MOS is something you absolutely can't live without I would talk to the recruiter about the closest METOC vacancy in the reserves. Keep your expectations low.

Why don't you let the adults try to help out the potential future of the Corps? There was no reason for that post.

Off topic but I'll add it anyways. My niece's last name is WEATHERMAN (she was platoon guide). Her DI's were constantly sending her outside so she could come back in and give them a weather report. She is now a ground electrician but people still ask her for the forecast.

    That's a typical m14ed post here. Don't ask me why, I can't explain it.

Met only one in the Marine Corps. From what he told me it is a very small group and the school requires a lot of study. Never seen one deploy with me though. I have worked with the Air Force Special Operations Weather Technicians a few times and those guys are good to go.

The only one I met in the Marine Corps was a Master Sergeant. He kept in contact with the people he trained with from the Air Force and said he was promoted faster than his Air Force friends in weather.

Like Jab116, I knew a couple of Air Force Special Operations Weather guys since they were in our Special Forces Battalion.

    did i make an in-appropriate comment ?

This is ASK A MARINE is it not ?

I leave it to the ADULTS to decide-

I thought what you had typed was pure poetry.

  14. #14
^^^yes. Your comment was inappropriate. The OP was simply asking for help with finding information he needs. Nothing in his question indicates a fear of talking with Marines. Your posts rarely make any sense and rarely offer any value to the wannabe visiting this thread. Your profile is totally unsat as well and does not comply with the rules of this site. I'm sure you think it's cute and creative. My advice to you is, if you don't have anything constructive to add, just keep your comments to yourself (and stop embarrassing the rest of us).

On another note its nice to have a relatively recent former recruiter here.
