Thumbs up A matter of perspective...

Billions are passe! Trillions are now the rage.

The next time you hear a politician use the words "billion" casually, think about whether you want that politician spending your tax money. A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into perspective in one of its releases: A billion seconds ago, it was 1959. A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive. A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate Washington spends it.

The Democrats are complaining on how long the war is taking but consider this: It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation. It took less time to find Saddam's sons in Iraq than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records. It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Teddy Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sunk at Chappaquiddick. It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida !!!!!! Damn our military is GREAT !

We'll be happy to oblige ya. Of course, it will really irritate a lot of people to see success over there. Surprising how many Americans openly or secretly wish things had gone terribly wrong, for their own selfish political reasons. I'm sure you aren't like that, but a lot of self serving politcos are. Can you imagine that? Some even hate to see the economy improve. Go figure.?.

The war in Iraq has set free a people who have no understanding of freedom, democracy, etc. It will take at least a generation of re-education for them to grasp what it is about.

Though our troops have done an outstanding job of their mission, as they always have, we cannot expect them to stay there for another twenty years until the self-government and accountability take hold.

The war went very well---that's what our troops were trained for, now it's time to leave. Will the Iraqis now step into the position of leadership for a free democracy? We know the answer---no.

The big problem for the U.S. is that there is no closure for this war but instead only expandtion.

This is a war with Islam, they started it and I wonder where it, how it, or even could it end.
