A Woman's Thong during the Civil War

    Or lack of one! LOL

By gosh, maybe there was something to those cold nights after all.

Found this from following the link MillRatUSMC's provided ...

LADY'S DRAWERS/PANTALETTES WITH RED EMBROIDERED INITIALS
    (c. 1850-60s)

Made of heavy cotton broadcloth, these sturdy drawers are very well made. A 2" wide waistband expands to a soft point in front. The back of the waistband is gathered over long cotton cords that tie in back to close and adjust for size. In the back, just below the waistband are the initials E.G. in old English style and the numbers 11 embroidered in red thread. These drawers are very full in the seat. The bottom of each leg has five rows of tucks plus a 2 1/4" wide beautifully crocheted edging on the bottom. Measure 33 1/2" long and legs are 9" across at bottom. Condition is excellent.
    ~ $160 ~
