    Confused/MOS questions

My son graduated from MCRD Parris Island October 4, 2013. He arrived at Camp Lejeune for training on October 22, 2013. I have no idea where he goes after his SOI training. His MOS is Combat Engineer. I am also confused on when his SOI or MCT training ends, I had a hard time getting him to give me any information. Also, is it common practice for parents to attend his training graduation? I would like to plan that trip if it is. Thank you for any information you can supply.

Good Morning Jodie and welcome to the forum.

You son will be going to school at Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune, NC.

No you do not have to attend his training graduation, it is not standard practice for SOI.

Best of luck to you and your son.

If your son is reluctant to give out information you should not push for it. Sometimes (actually most of the time), they are told not to or simply don't know.

Yep, he's headed to MCES, Courthouse Bay, and then probably to 8th Engineers.

Thank you Rocky C for all of the information. This is such a learning curve for me. Apparently, my son is attending MCT not SOI because he isn't infantry, is that correct? That doesn't change his school location does it? Thank you again, I truly appreciate all of the help you are providing.
