I'm purchasing an expensive item from a guy in Danville, IL.

He's either a little strange (by phone calls and emails) or a scammer trying to act like someone else.

Is anyone around that area? I'd be interested in having him checked up on.

Just an update.

A Danville detective called me at work yesterday to let me know they'd taken the guy into custody. Apparently, he'd been running the scam on numerous people using a fake ID to a real person's address - then stealing his mail when the check arrived.

So, I suppose I should close this thread.
