Best way to travel ITB to New Jersey

My son at Geiger for ITB. He is becoming a Mortarman. Due to his schedule, we had the priviledge of him coming home for Thanksgiving. He will also be able to come home for Christmas. The drive really sucks and is expensive. it will be cheaper to fly him round trip compared to driving, eating, hotels, etc. So my question is.... what is the best way to get him home and how can he arrange to get to an airport? Which airport combination should I be looking at between the Jacksonville area and NJ area?

My suggestion is to look for airlines to who fly out of Wilmington NC and has terminals at Atlantic City, Philly or Newark. There used to be a Trailways bus in Jacksonville to take him to Wilmington. Forty some years ago we flew military reserved and military stand-by out of Wilmington up to Jersey.

Swoop Circle Mainside Lejeune still exists.
I here from the young Marines that it still goes all the way to Grand Central Station, NY and back, The going rate right now is $50. one way.

I remember when it was 5 bucks

    Just a suggestion

Almost every friday, There are Marines that still park their POVs at the Bus Station in Lejeune, the reason for this is to pick-up anybody heading up north such as NJ & NY. The only condition is to supply (contibute)half-money of the total cost of the trip to the POV owner. SSgt G
