I don't want to brush anyone's fur the wrong direction, but everyone I know refers to getting promoted as "picking up". Maybe it's a regional thing, but even I say "I just picked up Corporal" even though it took 2 years and tons of work to get here.
(0111s have high cutting scores too. I would seriously look into meritorious promotion boards.)

best part of 2841 is the job market when you get out. RF experience can be highly marketable. I did ground radio repair for my five years ('99-'04) and am making a base salary of $60K (haven't made less than 70K past three years due to overtime) based solely on my 2841 training. I'd take it and run with it.
