    OMG....thanks for reminding me.
No sense starting my batch of chili if I'm not supposed to be here.

Carry on...a safe and enjoyable Turkey Week to all.

    EDIT: Hi Dave2571

    Ain't that the truth.
I have wondered how long my body could take the rigors of boot camp at this age.
I figure I could get through the eating routine but that may be it.
The humility of getting pummeled with pugil sticks by someone less than 1/3 my age would be too much for my fragile ego.

Carry on....cold here (by Ca. standards, that is).

Hmm...I agree we could 'look' at the obstacle course without much problem.
But, I do think we could 'hold' a pugil stick if we stood it on end with said end on the ground.
AHAH!....we could be 'Pugil Stick Monitors'....with our own MOS.

    Carry on.....

    that's a good one.

I really want to go to MCRD/SD and check out all that turf again after all these years.
    It's still on the list.

    Forgive us OP....

Yet, I still try to perpetuate said myth on this forum.
Still waiting for 'banned camp' designation on my profile.
Guess the Lepster is getting old too.

    Carry on....

    Congrats Marine, Semper Fi !!!!

HAHA it's ok gentlemen, I'm finding your conversation quite amusing... and I'd say us SD Marines get better training since we have the hills... the humps were interesting to say the least, they definitely kicked my ass since I was in the back of my platoon and my platoon was in the back of my series. The beach hump especially SUUUUCKED, we were on the soft sand knee deep in the ocean water the WHOLE time with our 87 pound packs and we were RUNNING all 8 miles lol.

Mentally, I was FULLY prepared for the DI's so they didnt phase me... However, dealing with the majority of my platoon being racist and having them CONSTANTLY do things to get me dropped... that took its toll.

Physically, the PT was a joke but the humps were WAAAAAAAY harder than I expected.

Marine meeting people who are racist for what every reason is just part of life it is what you do with your life that counts. So, Semper Fi Marine you is one now and you are not alone, you got a lot of Borthers and Sisters out there. I for one would be proud to stand by your side and kick some azz or just have a beer any day.
