Do me a favor bro. don't write it , don't say it. Marines don't need that sh*t. We all volunteered, we knew the deal or thought we did, if anyone b*tched too much he got reminded that he asked for it. I get silently p*ssed every time someone says thanks for your service. I smile and go on but we all know who we are and we don't need that sh*t.
I feel for the family's of the MIA's I read that we're everywhere that any American died and that we never give up on finding them... I believe that its the truth

Funny you mention weight gain issue, when I got of the plane the wife started to cry,
I thought she was just happy to see me in one piece and alive, when it all settled down I asked her why? she said you looked so thin I thought they let you go cause you had cance or something, models today would kill for the hip bones that were showing on me back in the day. funny!!!!

It ****es me off also to be told welcome home, don't need it, don't want it. Had a guy who had been in the army some years ago tell me "Welcome home soldier." When I said I wasn't a soldier, I was a Marine you should have heard him ***** and moan and call me ungrateful. He got even more ****ed when I told him to go **** himself.

Merry Christmas from the Nam. 3/4 in our rear at Dong Ha 1966. Ain't we the picture of proud American fighting men. Send this one to the congressmen who love us now.
