I moved my residence about 8 months ago and my speakers have not worked since.

I have a HP Desktop with built in speakers. I have ran the recommended tests and when I test them they are working fine, but when I want to watch something on utube or anything with sound they do not work. This PC also has realtec installed on it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Marines.

check to make sure the drivers for sound are still there I have had to re load the drivers on my computer before when my wifi stopped working. you can get them from the HP web site

do the stupid stuff first,
go get the drivers before you go insane trying to figure out the more complicated things which in my experience it wont be,
seriously just go download the drivers and install them ,
I have had this issue more than I care to remember,
for some reason CPUs just lose **** ,
like drivers for no apparent reason,
drivers is the issue, I would bet money on it friend.

You might need a new soundcard. They go out over time, and if this proves to be the case, you may want to go to your local best buy to have them install a new one if you are not computer savvy. If you are, it only takes a couple of screws and you can install a new one. you may want to do a google search for "soundcard troubleshooting" and go through the steps to find out what is wrong.
