Why I joined the USMC - Marine Corps Community for USMC Marine Veterans

The one and only reason I joined the USMC is a very simple one. I love my country. I love the freedom, people and this God blessed land. I will defend this land with every ounce of my strength. I shall never let anyone harm or disgrace this nation. I want to be the very best person I can be and not just say I love freedom but defend the freedom, earn my God given right to be free. And I hope one day when I retire in 20 something years that another young man or women comes along and has the same pride and love for this country and will defend it with their last breath.

Most do, but are afraid of sounding corny and naive in front of the real Marines.

But damn, I love this country.
