Reuse or replace utility nametapes?
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Well, it's time to replace my first set of utilities, especially with the recent ink explosion that denoted in right breast pocket. I'm planning to buy a new set of desert utilities and removing both nametapes from my old set to be reused and sewn on my new set. However, I'm not sure if it's a good idea because I frequently wash all my utilities and the nametapes may be faded compared to the fresh set of utilities that they would be put on. Would my nametapes contrast noticeably if they were to be put on a new set of utilities? I was wondering what y'all salty individuals would do. When buying a new set of utilities/cammies, do y'all reuse nametapes from your old one or order a whole new set of fresh nametapes?

Gotta Laugh....
pardon me....
Older Marines can remember when we could only use INK STAMP
on gear, and NameTapes were optional overseas Airwing Items..
and removed when you got back to conus.

Not a long term cost effective move to reuse old tapes.
When (not if) they become so faded they are noticed by the wrong person
you will then have an emergency situation and be replacing in a hurry.
Next comes explaining why you waited -----

We also had stencil kits so we could stencil our chevrons on the sleeves. If you got busted all you did was black out your chevron and continue to march. Thing were not so complicated back then.
