Help with WW 1 and WW 2 medals and precedence
I was trying to post this on Uniform U forum, with no success.
Sorry for posting here, but need some information.
I am a board member of a county Historical Society, in Ohio. I am trying to create a display of medals received for our county's most decorated soldier. (James A. Ducey) I do not have much in the way of service files to access. I have a photo of medals he has received, in no particular order. They include: 2nd DIV. AEF medal, WW 2 Victory medal, USMC Expeditionary medal #717 (APR 1931), Good Conduct medal (8 awards), French Battle of Verdun medal. WW 1 Victory medal w/5 bars, Croix de Guerre (2) awards, a VFW member medal, Silver Star (2) Awards, and an Expert pistol badge. Any assistance is appreciated.

I'd suggest you do more research on "the MOST decorated service member".
Examples: WW1-Dan Daley; WW2 - Audie Murphy; Post WW2 - Robert L. Howard.

You can also use this rack builder. Find the ribbon and they will place them in order for you...

for the US awarded MEDALS only (no foreign awards, and some "ribbons only" awards) you can fill out a form SF 180 and submit it to the NPRC or the Medals Branch in Philadelphia PA...

Shadow,
Note that he said most decorated in his county, not in the country/nation.
