DOD Indentifies Marine Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Lance Cpl. Raymon L. A. Johnson, 22, of Midland, Ga., died Oct. 13 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

To best of my knowlege HurricaneRJ is the only member of Leatherneck.com to have given the last full measure of devotion to his Corps and Country in the current war in Afganistan. We have had some members that have been WIA. Ramon was a very active contributor to our forums both before he became a Marine and after. My sincere condolances to his family and my thanks for raising such a fine young man. Its been an honor and a pleasure to have known LCpl Ramon Johnson United States Marine Corps.

I am trying to see if there is an address for them that I can share, but until they okay it, I don't want to share...Hope you all understand.

Ray Johnson
This is his brother I have gained access to his account. For those who don't know.
Lcpl Raymon Johnson died during combat operations in Afghanistan 2010 October 13.
Cause of Death: Amputation of his left leg below the knee and extensive fragmentation wounds to his right leg and abdomen.
Lcpl Johnson was pronounced dead 1246hrs Camp Bastion Role III Medical Treatment Facility

A Camp Lejeune Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom this week during combat.
Lance Cpl. Raymon L. A. Johnson, 22, of Midland, Ga., died Tuesday while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan, according to a Department of Defense press release. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.

I remember a few years back when Raymon and I were just wannabes BS-ing in the chat room with Bulkyker and Dave Blaylock, it just seems unreal that he's gone now. My sincere condolences to his family and the Marines in his platoon, they lost a good son and brother and a good Marine.

My deepest condolences to Lance Corporal Johnson's family and friends. My prayers go out to them from the bottom of my heart. My prayers go out to Lance Corporal Johnson's friends and brother Marines here at Leatherneck.
God Bless you Lance Corporal Johnson. I am forever indebted to you for your bravery and for your sacrifice.
