Just joined the website.
Might as well post my recent/old IST stats.
First IST when I joined DEP maybe....3 months ago;
16 pull-ups
12:20 1.5 mile
51 crunches
3 months later;
23 pull-ups ( Recruiter wrote down 22, as he lost count.)
103 crunches
10:10 1.5 mile time. (looked online, estimating that it was ACTUALLY 1.7 miles. Thank you, google earth distance measuring tool.)
What ****es me off, is that some poolees don't LOCK OUT their ****ing ARMS. One guy got 24 " pull-ups" by going to about 160 degrees, instead of the 180 degrees it takes to get a straightened arm.
160 looks something like -> \ 180 would be -> l
/ l
On top of that, they were more like chin-ups. I personally don't think that palms facing inward should be counted, but that's not for me to say. -.-
I don't leave until May, so plenty of time for improvement in all my scores.

First IST back in July:
Pull ups - 5 or 6
Crunches - in the 50's or 60's (can't remember)
Mile and a half run time - 13.56
Latest IST (this month):
Pull ups - 9
Crunches - 107
Mile and a half run time - 12.10
We had two IST's in one week with the latest scores, but I did 11 pull ups on the IST when the SgtMaj came to one of our PTs earlier in the week and then only 9 on the pool function IST. So I don't know what's up with that but still did pretty good.

They will get called out on it at Boot Camp, I don't know why you are so worried about others. Palms inward is harder on your biceps and pectorals, while palms out use more of your lats and shoulders, it's all preference. They are both hard in their own ways. I do palms inward, and I feel with that method I go up higher on the bar than the chin-up guys who stretch their necks but you don't see me complaining.
