MOTO. For all you 17 and 18 year old poolees out there, let this serve as motivation to get on your grind with the pull-ups. This guy's 26, which in bootcamp is an old man. Sure as hell motivated me.

P.S. He's a Marine now. It seems he just recently graduated.
Yeah, that's gonna' be me one day.

I know this one dude who bangs out 45. We have the same recruiter. He's a monster, and doesn't look like a walking steriod either. Lets see you get there. You do even 20 pull-ups and I will wear a bright pink shirt that says "Rape Me"

Did I just hear the call for moto?

I'll do my best to round up some moto, but for now I'll leave you with these:

Here's from the USMC's brothers across the seas.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rbTLkMpV1g

And this is the uncut version of the hecka motivational John Glenn speach posted earlier. I've listened to this (both versions) probably 10 times now.

Don't ever forget that you've volunteered for something noble. Don't ever forget that YOU'RE the one who has volunteered to do something many others would not. Don't ever forget that there's a reason that we go run 'till our lungs are about to burst, do pushups until our arms go dead (then do some more) and do flutter kicks until our freakin' stomachs split open. We do it because we're going to be United States Marines. YOU are going to earn that title, YOU are going to stand proudly with your Eagle Globe and Anchor in front of friends and family on graduation day. We do things that utterly SUCK so that we can be better people, poolees, and someday, Marines.

Keep up the good work Rough Hands, go out again tomorrow and run again, push yourself past your limits, and keep in mind why you're doing it. Don't give up.

Now I'll go see about rounding up some more moto.

For y'all sentimental types out there might appreciate this... Kinda got me.

On 9/11 our British allies honored us by playing our national anthem. Pretty awesome.

Ok, maybe not so much moto, but should still at least give you a laugh.

Sorry, that's all I got tonight. Will have to do 'till I can go find some more proper moto.

IMO it just doesn't get more moto than the John Glenn video. Warriors song video pretty awesome too. Watch both of those frequently.

I don't have any links or YT vids to post, just my own personal experience. My recruiter plays songs from the new Ozzy CD while we drive from the RS to the field where we do the CFT and all that.

He plays it LOUD. I mean really freakin' loud then tries talking to us on the way there and we're trying to hear what he's saying. He does it on purpose, but it's awesome. Then he will start SCREAMING along with the lyrics and tell us to join in and just let it loose and by the time we arrive, we're the loudest, most motivated car in the lot.

    It's awesome.

If you see my past history of threads/posts I've made, I've had problems with pull ups, I've gained 2 so far and up to FIVE freakin' pull ups. I know it's not much as some of you guys here, obviously, but I'm only 2.5 months into the DEP and when I started I couldn't even get 1, I was just hanging straight armed on the bar wiggling about.

    "We hump til we die."

Keep up the hard work, no matter how tough things get, it will end at one point, so might as well suck it up, buttercups!

Don't want to let this thread die, most important thing for a Poolee is motivation, sometime the DEP can be a long wait, and remembering your commitment and keeping up with your training is hard some times.

This is an exceptional post Rough Hands great idea, since your ship date has already come and gone hopefully when you come back a MARINE and take a look at this post it will be a lot bigger.

Hopefully if I see you on PI (I leave 20101115) the Drill Instructors wont see me.

Prepare for hecka moto in 3... 2... 1...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW4Gm5uFYQk

2010 Marine Corps Birthday Message from the Commandant and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps (a few days early).

For some reason the most moto part to me was when it transitioned from the film footage of the Chosin Marines marching through the snow to the Marines in Iraq marching across the bridge. We have a long proud legacy that we're joining and becoming part of.
