When I signed up at AFEES in Chicago no one asked where I wanted to go, They just sent me to San Diego.

I have always heard that if you Live East of the Mississippi,you go to Parris Island, South Carolina for Boot Camp in My case I did so, long with several Men. And if you Live West of the Mississippi you go to San Diego California for Boot Camp . So let hear from you does that hold true or what?
Lets keep it simple and clean.

I lived in Michigan and went to San Diego ,and my freind went to Parris Island so I guess Michigan is split.

I'm originally from Michigan, and went to MCRD San Diego. I found out later I could have put in for Parris Island, where my uncle graduated from.
