Question about about a Option Contract

I just Graduated boot camp Friday. I was getting all my **** organized and i decided to take a look through my SRB. I came across my contract and was looking it over and i noticed something that i didnt notice when i signed it as a dumb poolee eager to get some. I signed a Logistics contract. It says Program Description: Logistics Option, then it says Military Occupational Field(s) in Option, 0400 Logistics, 2300 Ammunition and Explosive Ordnance Disposal. I really didnt even notice this when i signed it. I was so eager to sign and go to boot camp i obviously didnt pay much attention. I remember asking my recruiter what "This" was, he says "nothing dont worry about it" or something of that sense haha. What im asking is what does this truly mean, does it mean if something happens and something falls through with my Logistics contract then i get put as a EOD or does this mean that the Corps decide which mos im needed and put me as what they want. Its just kind of a shock, ive been telling everyone im a Logistics contract and then i notice this and now im not so sure. So if anyone can help or maybe they had the same thing with a Option contract, your help would be appreciated

Marine Corps will put you in anything listed in that contract that they need you in.

It's too bad that you've probably left MCRD already, since at this point what MOS you're getting should have been picked already and you probably could have asked an admin to look it up for you.

What do your orders say? Where are you to report to?

I feel you on this one bro my orders said the exact same thing. So they stuck me with Embark Specialist(0431).It all depends on the need of the Marine Corps.

From what I hear now, you don't get your final MOS school orders until right at the end of MCT. I don't know why the Corps does that now, seems like that would create problems all around. I guess it just makes it easier on them to control the school pipelines. In your case, it looks like you are guaranteed a logistics related mos, but that could mean a lot of different MOSs. I don't think they take Marines into EOD other than an on a voluntary basis, so you should be safe there. My guess is that you will be a "catchall" 0431, that's the most likely. I don't know where that school is, but I'm sure someone on here does. In retrospect, always make sure exactly what you're signing, that's the point in having you sign that particular part of your contract. Don't blame it on the recruiter. He was there to answer your questions and you didn't ask, so you get what you get.
