Active Duty, Pregnant, and EASing
So, me and my husband just found out that we are (unexpectantly) expecting a baby. The only problem is that we both EAS in 7 months... uhhh... any advice or experience here? Thanks, in advance!

Call Tricare and get ready to sign up for the 18 month extension plan. I EAS'd during a July period and our baby was due a few months after. The day after my EAS Tricare picked us up on the extended plan which is a lot like being on Tricare Prime but you'll have to pay a few bucks here and there for meds and visits. I think our bill after the baby was only $100 or so if that.
No worries though, it's a smooth process.
Whoever is going to be the working spouse will need to ensure that their employer is covering medical which the employer can directly mail in a check to cover the semi-annual costs for the coverage. All of course depending on the employer and what % of medical coverage is agreed upon.

Check with your personnel office to see if they can extend your eas (COFGMED) until after you have the baby.

Thank you, Sgt, for the Tricare information.
And thank you, MGySgt. I wasn't even aware that that was an option!
Great advice from both of you. Thanks!
