CAMP PENDLETON, Calif.—The Marine Corps has charged a reserve major at Camp Pendleton with mishandling classified documents between 2004 and 2006.

Military officials said Wednesday the charges against Mark A. Lowe include conspiracy, dereliction of duty, wrongful transmission of national defense information and other offenses.

Lowe is currently assigned to the Headquarters and Support Battalion at the Marine base. It wasn't immediately known whether he has retained an attorney.

Four other Marines have been charged in the case. Two face trial, one was found guilty at court-martial last month, and one was convicted and given 26 months confinement in the brig and dishonorable discharged.
