The stage is set for another Korean War in 2012
Evidently, the agreements described below will require that US troops pull out of Seoul by April 17, 2012. Our friends in Korea are extremely concerned about this deadline and the possibility, if not the liklihood of a new Korean War. I received a phone last weekend from a friend in Seoul who is in near-panic mode. He was only a young boy when the DPRK invaded in 1950, but he remembers well the face of communism.
It appears that the former ROK President (the one who committed suicide) entered into an agreement with then Secretary Rumsfeld, whereby we have begun to pull out. My Korean friends think their forces today are well-trained, but simply not large enough to withstand a massive invasion from the north. They also fear that invasion will soon follow our withdrawal. What were we thinking? Must we do this again?
