I'm currently a 3521 Motor T mechanic and have always had an interest in special operations,the reason we all join. Im highly motivated, PT loving and I am looking to step it up have a real purpose in the Corps. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions. I don't know who to talk to or what steps to take.I still have 2 years on my contract.

Have you read ANY of the articles in the Marine Corps Times? There are emails and articles all over the place about the most wanted MOS' and lat moving to them.

Yes, read about how MARSOC recently oppened up to all MOS's but does that mean we can become shooters? I was trying to go as a Lance thinking I was going to become a shooter but come to find out once my command had approved it they were sending me to be a mech with them.The monitor said i had to be an 03 to become a shooter.

If you are not already an 03, then you will have to go to SOI to "become" an 0311. Once that is complete you go on to MARSOC's 47 (sarcasm) different schools. If you fail at any point you go back to your orginal MOS and back to your unit. You will also need to qualify to receive orders (enough time left on contract, enough time on current duty station...).
