    Hurt while in DEP

I think I've gotten a hernia. I was diagnosed by my P.E. coach and I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. I haven't told my recruiter yet because I don't know if I have one or not. Will this cause me to be kicked out of the DEP or not? My ship date is not until July 20 so I have time to recover.

I had a hernia years ago. Recovered in about 2 weeks or so. But you will still have the stitches for about a month. So i'd assume you'd be good to go. It is a surgery though.. But mine was so long ago I didn't have to tell MEPS.

A PE Coach with a medical degree? See a real doctor and then tell your recruiter the results.

Hey, don't be a jerk man. Trying to get educated here. My grandpa was in the Marines, served in the Korean war, it has a lot of pride for me. I'm going to be your brother as you will be mine. Don't be an ass.

Yeah I know he's not in the position to tell me whats wrong, but on the other hand I do have a painful bulge in my lower abdomen and hurts really bad when I pick up something.

I'm not going to tell my recruiter about it until I know for sure, which will be tomorrow. Until then I'm curious/ worried if this will affect my status in the DEP. Will it? Like I said I have time to recover, but will I have to go through any extra process to stay in the DEP or will the discharge me?

    COFields,
When/ if you ever graduate from boot camp you can claim the title Marine. Until then you are just a poolie/ wannabe. If you ever disrespect a Corporal like that in a fleet unit you will have a mudhole stomped in your ass.
