PFC Walling, I had the same reaction. I am just a poolee, but regardless, it gets my blood boiling to see a United States Marine (or any other servicemember) lying dead. Go get some Pvt. Guardado and stay safe!

I wanted to keep the thread alive and post another video. Made this one from footage of our scout training last week. Disregard the shirtless intro, it's an inner-company joke.

    sweet video corporal! motivating trash.

question- i noticed on the MOUT excerises the first 2 in had there weapons at the ready, but the last 2 just walked in...here where taught everyone in that room, clearing left and right weapons at the ready until the room is clear. where those just cadre's or what?

CWalling glad you enjoyed the video.

As for your question, I'll have to go back and take another look. It was a Sgt buddy of mine who was running the lane and I remember him breaking the fire team up into an assault team and a support team. I believe the rationale went that the assault team would make entry first, clear the room, then call "support up" in which the two man support team would make entry.

You do have a point about the weapons posture here and you can believe me when I say we did things a bit different in Iraq. When dealing with these live fire lanes however, postures tend to be tightly regulated for safety reasons. There should never be a scenario in this lane where a Marine with condition one weapon is flagging a Marine in front of him. You've got live rounds, adrenaline is pumping, safeties are off for much of the movement.. it's just not worth a casualty in training. You will notice later in the video where you've got the two teams firing on the move through the "courtyard" there is a PSO who is in charge of regulating the movement of the firing teams so that neither team steps into the other team's SDZ.

Hope this explains things a bit.

    Semper Fi.
