Tee's, sweats and ball caps nawww. With a heavy concentration of rad lib's milling around city's of the Pac NW. Marines could stand more popular support. When people wear fragments of dress uniforms with rank insignia and or EGA attached, blood stripes, covers with scrambled eggs, this makes me grimace. But i ain't gonna launch into a sidewalk throw down and strip the ass hole

He then pulled up his pants and with a tear in his eye said" Thank you for your service. I will never disrespect the men who served so I could be free to wear this shirt". Okay, then I was floored. I thanked him and we went on about our lives.
I know im just a MArine Hopeful but that is cool. I work for my recruiter so if you think of Joining the Corps you come to me and ask me questions and I usally tell them when the Marine REcruiters are coming and they talk to the hopefuls(I also help them by keeping them away from the Army Recruiters). I take them aside before the recruiters come because Gunnery Sergeant Hearst,Staff Sergeant Moore and Sergeant Washington hate kids who sag there Pants wear chains and wear big old shirts they shewed me out the first time they met me but then they got to know me and we are real good friends they are my brothers.

I saw a sweatshirt on soldiercity.com that fits my discription. It said,

"Not as lean, Not as mean,
    But still a Marine"

I met a young man who was wearing USMarine Recon shirt, I was up at Big Bear with my grandkids. He replied "He had joined but didn't make it." I had already replied to him, Semper Fi. I was really disapointed, because I thought by wearing the shirt he was Recon. WHATEVER, Semper Fi Sheila Hays LadyM59.

Both my parents, my siblings, and a few exs still walk around in USMC shirts all the time. People are always asking them about it. My dad is always wearing his "My son is a United States Marine" shirt and people are always walking up to him tell him to give me there regards. He has even had a few girls ask for my number. Which is quite amusing. So no it does not bother me. But you best believe if I see someone wearing a USMC shirt and acting a fool then they are going to get Devil Dogged.
I don't have a problem with them wearing it but they better not disrespect us by wearing it!
You know, it really amuses me to read these replies, and hear that so many would stop a civi or service member on the streets, to correct or inquire about why they are wearing USMC memorabilia or uniform items. When, there are Marines everday, on every base in the world, that wear our uniforms INCORRECTLY, walking and talking on cell phones (IN UNIFORM!) chewing gum (IN UNIFORM) and NO ONE CORRECTS THAT!!! Hell, most of them are our peers and buddies... Where is our pride, professionalism, and heart when this happens within OUR CORPS?

I Don't know... Maybe No one want to realize this is an on-going battle that really has no end or resolve. We as Marines are fearless in Battles but heartless when it comes to challenging others to uphold our Traditions and maintain conformity in professionalism (That is what everyone here is talking about right?) I think, we all as a brotherhood, as a Corps, need to really learn and understand what's going on Inside the Walls, instead of what's going on Outside the same...

When I was way way boot an old salt spray painted his boots gold tied them together and tossed them over a telephone line. He pitched his seabag down the hall. I grabbed a couple t-shirts and some blues pants. Later I was traveling and had a Hong Kong t on. An older guy came by and said you been to Hong Kong? Sure thing sir... how did you like Kowloon city .. umm Kowloon what? I was busted talking the talk without walking the walk. I had after that went to Hong Kong and knew where the bull and bear was but at the time I was showing off something I knew nothing about.

You cannot fool a Marine if they are talking the talk and walking the walk. I haven't met a phony, I don't go around telling people I was in the Corps. I don't wear the tee shirts. The only reason I mentioned it to the young man, because his hair was high and tight. When I traveled across the country, they thought I was with the Red Cross. I had my winters on and a heavy over-coat, red scarf and brown gloves. My cover had a red braid and the EGA. I have the USMC flag flying over my garage. Why would they think I was in the Red Cross? I wear T's, sweatshirts, jackets, and caps that tell the public I am one of the finest. I earned my EGA just like all my fellow leathernecks. I am proud of my service, and appreciate anyone who wears t's or the like with USMC on it. Tells me they respect us and honor our service. I also wear my favorite teams logo. I consider anyone who displays the EGA on their clothing as cheerleaders/fans for all of us. Not exactly how I wanted to say it, but you get the gist of the meaning. Mellow a little and enjoy the support. Semper Fi!
