Who Are the Marines?
Who Are the Marines?
unknown author........
We're a special breed of fighting men,
The United States Marines
We fight from the air, the land and sea-
In all venues we may be seen.
In mountain terrain and in jungles,
Or deserts-we've fought in them all.
Always keenly primed, ever ready,
To answer our country's call.
From Montezuma's historical halls
To the deserst of ancient Iraq
Where we helped expel Sadaam's elite
From Kuwait to never come back.
There's comaraderie in our valorous Corps-
And a common thread that binds-
That extends beyond a mere friendship
An unspoken meeting of minds.
There's a feeling developed in each Marine
A deep pride in his Corps
And a special sense of a brotherhood
Naught akin to it eer felt before
Some time in the Corps will tend to shape
Characterin the soul of a man
To assist him establish strong values
And help him his life goals to plan
I was a Marine, I am a Marine,
And a Marine I always will be
Until the day when I depart
The earth's air, its land and sea
Sempers,
Roger

the Marine's are the protectors of this great country, it's Flag,
and it's Freedom. Our way of life is the Best on the face of the
earth, and we'll make sure it stays that way. the word MARINE
envokes either PRAISE or RATH. Some people love us and some
people loath us. The one's that loath us are the one's who do-
n't have the moral fiber to become one of us. All they're inter-
ested in is money & power. SEMPER-FI.

Who Are The Marines? We that have served and retire are the Marine of Yesterday and of Today. The Marine Corps has been around since the beginning of our great Country. Who elses to guard the gate of heaven? Like some Navy officer or secretary stated, "The Marines are going to be around another 500 years." He said something like that. Those who love the Marine Corps will love us and those who don't will dispise us. Can't please everybody.
************************************************
This is what I have to say to those who don't love Marines or do not wants the Marines Corps around.
"Here to me and here to you.
That we may never disagree,
And if we do,
Then here to me,
And **** you."

It was Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal who spoke those words to Gen. Holland "Howlin Mad" Smith after the Marines raised of the flag on Mt Suribachi, while offshore of Iwo Jima.
"General, the raising of that flag means a Marine Corps for the next five hundred years."
