    This might be a little late but anything 'Honorary' means you earned it without taking the common route. e.g. Mike Tyson has an Honorary Doctorate from a college that he never attended. Just like Chuck Norris, he is an Honorary Marine (never went to Marine Corps Bootcamp) due to his support/involvement of the Military over the decades.
