Are you talking about during or after boot camp?

During boot camp, you wear what they give you and like it. After boot camp, you can buy and wear what you want within the rules and regs and what your unit allows.

I wore issue boots and gloves while in the Marine Corps. In the Air Guard, I bought my own boots (Danner's) and my own tactical gloves, but usually wore issue sunglasses or issue goggles. In the winter, sometimes I wore issue gloves, sometimes I wore my own. I didn't need glasses to read back then.

The three best military-related investments I ever made was to buy Danner boots, a Leatherman tool, and a stainless steel thermos canteen. My oldest daughter now has my thermos canteen for the field and loves it. It still works 100% 25-years on. Unfortunately, I'm on Leatherman tool #3 now (lost the first two). I still wear Danner's while out Scouting.

Also, in common-usage English, we capitalize the first word of a sentence and the first letter of a proper noun.

As stated above you can only wear what they give you in Recruit Training.

If your unit is deployable you will most likely be issued prescription ballistic glasses. Either from ESS or Oakley.

You will wear your glass's for first 2 weeks at MOST in boot camp. Then you get your BCs.

What also would you recommend investing in other than whats stated above? should i just use whats issued or spend the money and get higher quality items for my enlistment?

Stop right there. You have plenty of time to look high speed when you get to the fleet. Now you need to work on succeeding in Recruit Training.
