Well, it has been a while to be honest, but dang it was beyond incredible.

Platoon 3001, Mike Co., The Island that God Forgot.

What can I say? Sand fleas, Senior Drills ( who are some crafty bastards! ), the Pit, Chosin and Starlight Range... God, the memories are amazing.

Being in the fleet now... I look back and that miserable Island beckons to me. I have to go back. I don't know why, but part of me feels my job there isn't done yet.

Don't worry none Marine, summer is coming to Pendleton (Rancho Santa Margarita y Las Flores) the few standing live oaks will appear as a welcome oasis from the burning sun and scarce water, but your on your own at Stumps!

When did 1st Marines move to San Mateo? Was it after the fires last year?

Yeah I was with 2/1 left there in 02. Ive got alot of my boys who live back home and were with 2/1 and were just in Iraq on the deployment right before there last one to OKI.
