    "Through the fire" quote?

I was looking through some stuff the other day and found an old Marines recruiting packet that I got when I was first looking into joining. On one of the pages it had a quote that went something along the lines of, "Once you have walked through fire, there is little else that can burn". I personally love the quote and think it's a great illustration of the whole Marines attitude of "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger".

My question is, where does the quote come from and how does it actually go? I googled it and different pages have slightly different wordings, and I never found the source. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it.
