Machine Gunner, Rifleman, how do you get these positions?

I was wondering, when you sign up for infantry, do they put on the weapon that they want you to be on, or what. Ive also heard its hard to get in as Infantry man?

You will be assigned according the the needs of the unit and Corps.
You will be trained or familiarized in (almost) every weapon of the inventory.

When you're ready, you should check in with the recruiter and wait for a guaranteed 03xx contract.

You will get to cross train while in the grunts.

0311, 0341. I did the 0331, 0352 mgst package but don't hold those MOS.

I had no time for 0351 but had a blast training with them as well as 0321 (zodiacs are heavy, i was happy carrying my 81 tube).
