Reunion

Hi All,After being AWOL for a few months I decided to get my feet back on the deck.
Last week end 9/10th of September was the Reunion of the Royal Marines Association 'the gathering of the old and bold' its a yearly event held at the Commando Training Centre.I just thought you may like to see a few photographs of the reunion.

The two ancient ones left 3badge and 'Oppo'

This is the 'Kings Squad' who will be passing for duty 15/9/06 and joining their units.

I was wondering where you had got to old soldier, (Jim), and I found you in here. I have not been on this site for a long time, but will drop in more regularly.

No Tanganyika stories, or horse stories out of school now Jim. Would not want our cousins to get the wrong impression of us.

I don't wish to hijack the thread, but we had a short discussion about 41 Independant Commando on the Once a Marine site. I was fortunate enough to be trained on heavy weapons by two sergeants from that unit, Cyril Blackman and Fred Hayhurst, (author of green berets in Korea). I believe that Fred is the Vice President of the Chosin Association. Both Fred and Cyril are still going strong.
