Stationing
Can you choose where you would like to be stationed, or does it depend on your mos?

It depends on your MOS and mostly on how well you do compaired to the rest of your class. Top ten percent theyll give you Some options... Low in the class they will put you where they want you. I think that your only true option is home or away, If your lower in the class

In my MOS school you got to pick east coast, west coast, or overseas. Out of 30 students, only one didnt get what he requested. Dont listen to the rumors that if you pick west, you will get east or anything like that. As long as you do well in the class and dont get in any trouble, your class commander will jump through hoops to get you where you want to go. Ive also heard that you can trade orders with other Marines in your class, but that didnt happen in ours. Good luck though. What is your MOS by the way?

I had to take it to gbudd. Out of ITR then to school then staging Bn then off to the merry Nam nobody ever asked me my feelings about it. The more the Corps changes the more it dosent.

I never got to choose. I'm sure it depends on the MOS though. With military police im pretty sure you won't be able to chose though. The same with infantry.

Im an 0231, Intelligence Specialist. My school is in Virginia Beach, VA. I love it here. If any of you poolees want to know more about the best MOS in the Marine Corps (besides grunt), just let me know. You have to have high scores to get in, and you have to be able to get a TS clearance. Very interesting stuff though.

^ gonna have to disagree with you on that one. 0431 is the best MOS, when i was in mos school we had a 75% deficeit of personnel. lots of fun stuff, and you get to know everyone in your group, and all they know you as is the guy who packs their stuff. its kinda cool because our job doesnt change no matter what the situation.
forgot to add, if i had to do it over again i would have been a grunt.
