    Profiles

I was just reading some profiles and some of the dates that are posted on them just don't add up. It kind of makes me suspicious when somebody claims that they were in the Corps on a certain date and according to their date of birth it would make them 14 or 15 years old. I don't know, matbe it's just me.

seems to me that the data was entered on purpose by the individual posting it......Know what I mean Vern?

If you are older than 36, it shows that you were born in 1969. Some may post the DOB wrong on purpose too Rod. Hey...if you didn't know how old you are....then HOW OLD WOULD YOU BE? If I didn't know my DOB....my guess would be around 1970??? It's not the age it's the mileage.

When I go to edit my profile the correct dob is there 9/10/1968 but when I check after I have posted something it says that my dob is Dec 31 1969. I was wondering about that.

I had noticed that DOB issue sometime back....I sure as hell was not born in 69 !! Off by 25 years....I just assumed it was a site decision to keep down the raw number of "old farts" on the site by just knocking off those 25 years !! Course it screwed everything else up too....and I tend to take the point that life is to short to worry about it. So I didn't...

This issue has been brought up many times before -

PHP (the programming language used here) reverts all dates back to December 31, 1969 whenever there is an error in the date field of the database. This happens usually after an upgrade or a migration of databases.

It's hard to fix 30,000 profiles - Besides, isn't all of our birthdays on November 10th?

My birthday certainly isn't 31 Dec 69, by that time I had already been in the Corps for almost 10 years. Where 21 Dec came from I have no idea. Maybe someone out there can enlighten us.

Well that answers it ! Enviro is clearly on top of the issue on several levels, particularly when it is noted we all have the same birthday !

    Works for me !

    Angry Incorrect Birthdays

There were no erroneous birthdays for years past...I have corrected my date several times, and it always reverts back to Dec 31, 1969...so I changed it to ....NA....I want order in my life as it was from day one in the Corps...cyber/Marineland is just that [cyber/Marineland]...it comes up way short!!
