Marine Security Forces to Infantry

I have recently been searching through things about my MOS, Security Forces, and have found out that after two years that you are sent into infantry. I was never (as far as I know) told about this, and I admittedly have zero interest in infantry.

I'm shipping out next week and don't really know what to do about it or if I'm going to be given any chance to change my MOS at all or if I'm even able to.

I was under the impression you spent the first 36 months in Security Forces and then finished out the remainder of your contract with an infantry unit.

Your recruiter should've made sure you understood what this program entails. You still have time to talk to them about it. Make sure you read your contract and understand exactly what it says before signing. You don't have to ship to bootcamp if you don't want to (but you must ship before your 365 days runs out or you'll be discharged from the DEP).
