Omg Combat Photography Somebody!!!

I'm tired of hearing everybody saying 20 different things. What the hell does a combat photographer do? Do they get deployed as normal marines and take whatever photos they like and the help shot when the time is right....do they get deployed and take photos of important people/events/trainings, etc or what. Somebody be real with me! Please!!

They don't just take photos of whatever they want. They have a mission, just like all Marines, and photograph/video what is required to accomplish that mission.

Besides combat camera, there are also photographers (different MOS) that work with Joint Public Affairs (PAO). Their photos appear in military journals, newspapers, etc.
